Optimistic theme about what's possible in American public school education. Good film demonstrating that if an inspired teacher is allowed to actually teach, and in their own way demonstrate ideas that make sense to high school students --- and not just follow school-approved lesson plans -- the results can be outstanding. Anybody who has attempted to pass the AP Calculus test knows this isn't a minor victory, it's major. On the downside, the film's directing and acting is a bit over-the-top. I suppose they did it that way in part b/c students studying the principles of calculus is hard to portray to general audiences and still make it interesting. Still, overall, recommended.
