An excellent, well researched work by Dr. Spencer who is not the paid lackey of the oil and gas industry but does research work funded by NASA, NOAA, DOE and the DOT. Alas, the people who should be reading it, David Suzuki, Stephen Hume, etc. won't touch this book with a ten-foot cattle prod. Critical thinking requires us to play devil's advocate and seek out opposing views to the prevailing mindset. Dr. Roy Spencer's main thesis is that global warming predictions are based on computer models that were programmed based on erroneous assumptions (i.e. garbage in = garbage out). Digressing for a moment, complex financial derivative models were programmed by quants on Wall St and elsewhere. Until 2008 they were generally regarded as accurate and reliable and OCDs were praised as products that would stabilize markets and produce higher yields for less risk. Raghuram Rajan was the lone dissenting voice at the Woods Hole Symposium and he tried to warn of the dire risk, Larry Summers actually called him a "Luddite". With the benefit of hindsight we can now see those computer models were disastrously wrong, so why should we assume that the climate change computer models are true and accurate?
