An excellent summary of the struggles of the middle part of Obama's 1st term as he has had one "Showdown" after another against Mitch McConnell, Eric Cantor, and John Boehner. The book describes Obama's goals and strategies and all of his victories for the middle-class. Shortly after this book came out, another book has revealed that the Republicans met within a day of the inauguration and decided to just obstruct Obama every step of the way. The Republicans have confirmed that book by filibustering every proposal made by Obama. The number one goal of the Republicans has been to limit Obama to one term, regardless of the effect their actions have on the economy of the United States. And they are so bold as to blame Obama for every unpassed bill that they refuse to even let the Senate vote upon.
