There are really two cases on the go here and the question of their connection pops up throughout the novel. First, the body of a child is found when a bronze box is unearthed and it turns out to have been there since the 50s. Who lived in the house back then? Is the father the man who parked his beautiful Duesenberg in the driveway so many years ago? More importantly, is there a crime? And then two criminal certainties hit Alex Delaware and Milo Sturgis - one of them being a young woman with an impeccable background dead of a gun shot wound. Los Angeles and Hollywood are full of movie stars and want-to-be's and get set to get close to a few. Does the title apply, and if so how, is for the reader to decide. Not one of Kellerman's best but an enjoyable diversion.
