I enjoy mysteries set in SE Asia such as Colin Cotterill's Dr. Siri's series set in Laos and Tarquin Hall's Vish Purim Mysteries so I had hoped that this book would be similar, but it was not. It dealt with rather disgusting (rich but unethical in business) characters and an almost buffoon-like inspector. The characters were poorly developed and the editing was sloppy. I skimmed the second half of the book in order to finish it. It had potential but it did not meet it.
