How To Train Your Dragon 2 is a solid movie, with a gorgeous aesthetic. The scenes are beautifully animated and have great sound tracks to match. Many scenes invoke strong emotions and help immerse the viewer into this fantastical world. There are some points in movie that will be lost of viewers if they have not seen the TV series such as the time skip between this movie and the first. The movies plot twist, I found dull and slightly predictable. The final confrontation also felt cheap with an almost "deus ex machina" conclusion. How To Train Your Dragon 2 isn't a bad movie by any means, but I feel that it isn't the sequel that the original deserved. Rating: 3 out of 5 @ToBeRisen of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library As you all probably know, the first movie was amazing and honestly, this one was just as good. We got to see the characters develop even further and omg Toothless got even cuter. The animation was amazing and was very well made. But this movie is a little sad as well, which is a good thing because it was able to bring emotion. Some animated movies are really lame and the problem that the characters face isn't interesting but this is not the case for this movie. I showed this movie to my friends and little cousins and they all loved it just like I did. I totally recommend this movie to kids aged 4-12. I give this movie a 4.7 out of 5 stars. Go give this movie a watch, you will not be disappointed. @terrficbooklover of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library I thought the first one was fantastic, then this one flew right down and blasted away the competition! But it is not just that How to Train Your Dragon 2 has amazing action scenes, an awessome villain with a giant pet dragon, and that the animation is miles ahead of the first one. It is because How to Train Your Dragon 2 is full of emotion, and a great lesson along the way. The scene where Stoik dies was a real gut wrencher, and you could clearly see that in the characters. Some shows have the cast mourn a little bit and quickly move on, but in this movie, they have a flippin ceromony for the guy. The life lesson I mentioned before is when Hiccup realized that his true destiny is to become chief of his village, but also make peace with the dragons. It sends a great message about doing what is right, and protecting who you love. That right there just melts your heart. The one thing I wished to see in this movie, are some of the cast from the prequel series Dragons: Race to the Edge, that was made to happen right before the events in this movie. It would have been great to see Dagur and Heather leading a charge against Drago, or even the A Team to assemble once again to help fight with the main riders at the Bewilderbeast's nest. But besides that, I highly recommend to watch HTTYD 2, for which it is burning with Nordic Fun! @BooksRUs of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board
