Written as a companion to her earlier book “The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry”, Rachel Joyce takes us into the life of Queenie Hennessy the dying woman who was the reason for the pilgrimage. And what a beautiful, touching story it is. Full of sadness but also resilience, Queenie’s life is testimony to both the vulnerability and indomitability of the human spirit. And, as her story unfolds, the author cleverly injects touches of humour ensuring we can laugh as well as cry at the vicissitudes life. This book is a real gem, even better than her first.
