Zimbardo is most famous for the Stanford Experiment, where college kids playing at prisoners and guards starting taking their roles too seriously and abusing each other. It took me FOREVER to get through this, but it wasn't boring. it was very detailed though, so maybe that's why. in any case, Zimbardo makes and EXCELLENT case for social situations playing a large role in getting "normal" people to do horrible things like torture, rape, beatings, etc...
