I have not read or listened to the first and second books, we jumped in at number three, having just grabbed it as a last minute choice for our family car trip. The actual plot and narrative are sort of not the point. The beauty of the story is in the poetry of her words, the musicality of the author's voice and the amazing imagery. There are mini stories and philosophical ponderances intermingled in the outrageous plot. I would give it five stars if I could remember how to do that in this system. :)
