This book is a painful reminder of why I don't watch TV sitcoms. And why an abundance of favorable reviews do not necessarily foretell an enjoyable reading experience. I struggled through the first chapter, put it aside to cool off, had a go at the second chapter, couldn't stand it any more, skipped to the beginning of chapters 3, 4 and then 5. At which point I gave up. Were I to have found myself in the unfortunate position of that poor schmuck Graham, married to Audra, I'm afraid I would have murdered her some time back -- or gone stark raving mad. I understand the book is intended to be humorous. I found it as annoying as the proverbial fingernails screeching on a blackboard.
This is the last book I will have read this year and it was by far the worst. By having lemmed it after 5 chapters, I managed to prevent it spoiling my year.
