Nicely filmed and with a fairytale aura about the entire film. While it's believable, some of the story is too quickly breezed over, such as inter-racial dating in 1940s Britain. Gemma does a good job in portraying an eccentric who blows past stereotypes as she gets an unwanted war refugee dumped on her doorstep. If you're looking for a film that's about fitting into a community (or not), set along the sea in WWII England, this is an enjoyable choice.
