You would think that a book such as “The Office BFFs: Tales of The Office from Two Best Friends Who Were There” would be filled with hilarious anecdotes from behind the scenes of the still popular NBC show “The Office”. You would not be wrong to think that. This engaging book, written by cast members (and best friends) Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey, does indeed have many behind the scene tales of life on a popular TV show. However . . . What “The Office BFFs” is really about is the special friendship between Jenna and Angela. It is a friendship that has thrived and flourished through good times and bad. They are quite lucky to have met each other at the exact time that they both were ready to accept a new life-changing relationship with another person. It does not happen that way for everyone. Especially for us introverts of the world. Angela and Jenna are extroverted doers, and, as such, they enjoy doing things together. That is not to say they do not ever like some quiet time alone. But, their book is chock full of stories about experiencing life, each a part of the other, blending their families and jobs and dreams in a big, life-fulfilling friendship. A cynic might read “The Office BFFs” and think it’s impossible for two people to get along as well as Jenna and Angela. Everyone is entitled to have an opinion, of course, but the joyfulness of their interactions in the book seem difficult to deny. If this book is a true reflection of their relationship, then good for them. And, good for their fans, too. It makes for a fun read when the co-authors are enjoying themselves, and each other.
