The Best Picture & Board Books I Read In 2023

There’s something for everyone in my favorite 2023 books, with everything from an enthusiastic chicken and shuffling skunks to henna gardens and superhero worms. Fans of author notes and extra information rejoice! There’s plenty of treasure to be found at the end of a lot of these books too! Exuberant, comforting, meditative, earnest, and sweet are just a few words to describe this list. You will meet a cricket of doom, gush over adorable pool floaties galore, go swimming and hiking, enjoy a rainbow of flowers and produce, and feel all your inner beauty materializing and flooding you with self-love.
