Sexual Assault Awareness Reading List

PLEASE NOTE: This list may contain references to mental health topics that could be triggering. Sexual abuse, assault, and harassment are widespread and impact every person and community. Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) occurs each year in April with the goal of raising public awareness about sexual assault and educating communities on how to prevent sexual violence. Everyone deserves to live in healthy and supportive environments where they feel safe, valued and respected. This reading list in honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Month explores some of the many topics surrounding sexual violence as well as trauma-informed resources for survivors. This list contains content and/or library materials that cover mental health and wellness topics. We are not medical professionals, so please always seek the advice or care from a mental health or health care professional to find out how this topic may or may not apply to your unique situation or overall health.
